This is a rather depressing book on predominantly middle and upper class young womens' tendencies to demonize their own selves and the societal influences that prompt and sustain that demonization. Nothing terribly new here, but the author's conversations with her various subjects are do provide interesting looks at contemporary female adolescence and young adulthood.
