I re-read Gatsby this weekend, having taken a decade-long hiatus. I was curious to see how my 28-year-old self responded to this novel I originally read under some amount of duress as a student in AP English.
It went down like the smoothest of drinks, and I appreciated the language just fine. More now than ever, though, did I appreciate the Big Themes, having attended college "back East" and having a much clearer sense of what the heck F. Scott. was talking about. Nothing like a little life experience to give you some perspective (yeah, that's deep).
